Some day, we hope to turn this into some kind of venture (small business, non-profit, billion dollar startup? time will tell.) Until then, its just a blog. But all blogs need a name and a logo. “Designigans” just came to me while jogging a few weeks bag. I was just thinking about how my kids act like “hooligans” and get into a lot of “shenanigans” when they are creating things. Its a nod to the old punk diy aesthetic. I added “design” as a prefix, checked to see if the domain was available (bonus!) and we had a name. Next up, we needed a logo. I came up with the idea of a mascot based on a humanized 3D printer. We got out some paper, colored pencils and I let the kids go nuts with the concepts.
